Steamed Pudding Net – for taking a steamed pudding out of the pan
We sell more steamed pudding nets online than anything else. Most of them have remained in the UK, suggesting we really are a nation of pudding-lovers. The US are a very close second
This simple, crocheted drawstring net is a must-have for pudding makers making it easy to remove a steamed pudding from boiling water
Please note that the butchers’ twine nets are now in a plain natural colour only, not the red stripe shown in the photos
How to remove a steamed pudding from boiling water without scalding your fingers
Simply suspend your pudding basin in the net and carefully lower into boiling water. The net can be boiled along with the pudding. When cooked, use the net to remove the pudding easily from the pan.
NB: The cotton net will absorb boiling water, so it would be wise to use oven mits or tongs when handling. Keep away from flames!
Although the steamed pudding net should not need washing, it can be put through the washing machine if necessary. If you need to wash it, I recommend you put it in a cloth bag or piece of material and tie the top to prevent it becoming tangled.
More information on how to use the pudding net can be found here

Very happy with this product, as I struggled to find one of these on the high street. Julie was also very accommodating in making sure that the product was posted and arrived on time. This was very thoughtful- thank you!
